ART AND DESIGN AT ULEY SCHOOL
Art and Design is highly valued by staff and children alike. We enjoy giving the children opportunities in which they can express themselves through colour, texture and shape. Children learn about the role of art, craft and design in different times and cultures, as well as different technical skills and styles.

Impact We monitor and assess the impact of our art and design learning through both formative and summative assessments. Each lesson provides the teacher with the opportunity to assess the children against the learning objective, this may be through discussions with children or a more formal piece of work. At the end of each unit children will be assessed on their understanding by completing a short assessment. Through experiencing the arts at Uley School we want children to be stimulated and excited to express their art and design skills and knowledge across a range of art activities and to develop their self-expression, creativity, self-esteem and confidence.
